I found it from I’ll be at the library

I also could not resist doing this one, being that I am a MAJOR harry potter fan. Always have been, always will be. So, here we go!

1. Favorite Book

Its a close call between The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince for me. I really felt like these books provided a lot more  depth to the Harry Potter world and we got to meet a lot of new characters. The characters were more fully developed and showed a lot of growth through these two books, as well. I love all the Order of the Pheonix shenanigans that are going on too.

2. Favorite Movie

Hmm… That would probably be the first one. The first movie really closely follows the first book, and I thought it perfectly encapsulated the magic, and awe of the first book. I’ll never forget the moment when Diagon Alley is first revealed.

3. Least Favorite Book

The Chamber of Secrets has always been my least favorite book, although I’ve never been quite clear on why that it. It’s nothing I can put my finger on, just a general dislike for it. I’d still re-read it though!

4. Parts of the story/movie that make you cry

When Sirius Black dies, I was totally inconsolable. For, like, years. In fact, I’m still not over it. When we see Snape’s memories, I cry every time. And, worst of all, when Dobby dies. In the movies, when Hermione erases her parent’s memories, that usually makes me choke up. I can’t even talk about Fred. I just, can’t even talk about it.

5. Favorite Character

Sirius Black. obviously.

6. What would your patronus be?

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would have a cat for a Patronus. It’s actually always really annoyed me that J.K. gave Dolors Umbridge a cat patrons, because I feel like she was not a cat person. Maybe a rat, or something. But not a cat.

7. If you could have the Invisibility Cloak, Elder Wand, or the Resurrection Stone, which would you choose?

I don’t really have any use for any of these. Elder Wand is for ambitious people seeking power (so not me), the Resurrection Stone is not fair to your loved ones, and I’ve already spent enough years feeling invisible, so no thanks.

8. What house would you be in?

This is a hard one for me, I’m not sure. Definitely not Slytherin because I’m not ambitious enough. I was a big reader in school, but not really a “brainiac” so probably not Ravenclaw. So probably Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Most likely Gryffindor. I probably wasn’t nice enough to be a Hufflepuff lol

9. If you could meet a member of the cast, who would it be?

I’d love to meet Gary Oldman, the actor who played Sirius Black. He is a prolific and excellent actor who I’d love to meet!

10. If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play.

Keeper all the way, baby!

11. Were you happy with the ending?

Yep, HP is one of the rare series that I felt completely satisfied with from beginning to end. It felt like a natural conclusion, but there was still enough twists and turns to keep it interesting.

12. How important is Harry Potter to you?

Insanely important part of my life. I grew up with the series. The last book came the summer I graduated High School so it felt like our childhood journeys lined up. Some favorite teen memories are of going to the Midnight Magic Release parties for books 5-7. I can read, or listen to the audiobook version of all 7 again and again. I actually watched my DVDs so much I had to buy a new set because they broke! Reading the HP books feels like a life changing event.

SIgh, just remembering the books gives me that happy feeling 🙂

  1. I didn’t choose the Sorcerer’s Stone as my favorite movie but I absolutely agree! The first movie did a fantastic job with capturing the exact scenes from the books and made the movie feel very magical. Gary Oldman is a fantastic choice; he seems like an interesting fellow in real life! I started reading HP in the 5th grade, and by then all 7 books were already out so I didn’t get to grow up with Harry and his friends like you did but I’m sure it was a wonderful journey.

Thank you for linking me; I’m so glad I was able to read your answers as well. Thanks for participating Kelsey!
