BookishRachel asked:

    1. How old were you when you discovered a love for reading?
      1. I’ve been trying to remember but I just can’t. I have loved reading since as far back as I can remember!
    2. Do you watch BookTube? If so, what is your favorite channel?
      1. I tried it out during the booktubeathon this year but I’ve found that I prefer reading blogs to watching booktube (I guess I really am too much of a reader lol!
    3. Book to movie adaptations: yay or nay?
      1. I think some have been done really well and I really appreciate how much attention the films/tv shows bring to the author and the book itself. I think it’s actually gone a long way to encouraging YAs to get back into reading, which is fantastic!
    4. Are you a book hoarder?
      1. Lol YES. I cant stand not owning books and throwing them away or even donating them is really hard for me. I did become a librarian for a reason you know!
    5. What is your favorite and least favorite genre to read?
      1. My favorite is fantasy and sci-fi, my least favorite (but that I will still read) is contemporary and the only genre I don’t read at all is Horror.
    6. Do you have any reading habits?
      1. Its really hard for me not to finish a book and my DNF category on my kindle is a constant sore spot for me. I binge read, so if i find a book I like, and its part of a series, I’ll read them all back-to-back right away lol
    7. Favorite book relationship (romantic or non-romantic)?
      1. I love the friendships in The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (YA), and one of my favorite book series from when I was a YA is Sweep by Cate Tiernan. It has one of my all time favorite book boyfriends ever. For adult books, I adore Mercy Thompson & Adam Hauptman and Anna & Charles Cornick, both from Patricia Briggs series.
    8. What is (or was) your most anticipated book for 2015?
      1. I’m really, really looking forward to Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (YA), and for adult, I’m so excited to read Kresley Cole’s Sweet Ruin. Both books are out on Dec.1st and I don’t know which I’ll read first!
    9. Why did you begin blogging?
      1. I was actually required to create a YA Book Blog as a class project for my Masters in Library and Information Science degree! I totally fell in love with it and decided to keep the blog going after the class ended, which it has!
    10. Favorite cover trend?
      1. I really like the “girl in a beautiful ballgown” covers!

Bridget’s Book Bungalow asked:

  1. What is your favorite part about blogging?
    1. I love getting to know other people who love books! I actually don’t have anyone else in my physical life that is a reader, so I’ve never gotten to talk with other people about books before. I love that I can do this in my virtual life!
  2. What do you do when you are not blogging?
    1. Right now I’m finishing up my student teaching experience so I’m working full time (and not getting paid!). I also read of course, play w. my cats, or hang with my boyfriend and my parents!
  3. If you had to spend the rest of your life living in one book, which one would it be?
    1. Hmm thats a hard one. As long as my loved ones were there I don’t really care which book. Something in present day though because I am not cut out for the past lol! This is a great question but I cant get myself to commit to just one!
  4. Follow up to Q3: Would you choose to take on the role of an existing character or would you be a new character?
    1. Oh I’d never choose to be anyone other than myself! It took a long time to love who I am but now I wouldnt trade me for the world!
  5. How do you pick out which book to read next?
    1. Its really hard for me sometimes, eventually I just bow to impulse.
  6. What are your top three favorite genres? And if it’s not too much, why are they your favorite?
    1. Urban Fantasy – I like to see magic added into our current day and age!
    2. High Fantasy – I like a good old fashioned sword-fighting, kick-butt heroine!
    3. Sci-Fi – I’m just starting to get into sci-fi, I like that the rules of the world can be bent by going forward in time!
  7. Do you prefer series or standalones?
    1. Series. I get overly attached to characters and worlds if I really liked them and since I read books usually in one sitting, if its a standalone I dont really get to spend that much time w. the characters or in the world. So series are preferable to me.
  8. What is your view on romance novels (of any kind)? This may be a silly questions since I know most of you read romance!
    1. When I was a pre-teen I read sci-fi (animorphs, anyone?). But from the time I was about 13-14 I’ve been reading adult romance. That is actually the genre that totally sucked me into reading and never let go. I’ve since switched to more Urban-Fantasy w. romance, but I’ve always been a romance reader. I like knowing that I am going to get a happy ending. Since life is sometimes difficult or painful, it has always comforted me to know that a happy ending is just a book away!
  9. When a favorite author switches genres, do you try their new book?
    1. I usually try it, but I rarely end up liking it!
  10. What’s your favorite social media site and why?
    1. Probably wordpress. I dont spend a lot of time on any other social media. Facebook is just to keep in touch with family or old friends and twitter I use only professionally (to stay current on trends in my profession). So wordress is the most fun!

Sorry I’m Booked asked

    1. What’s your favorite kind of cookie?
      1. You mean there are cookies other than chocolate chip? lol
    2. What is your favorite hobby or past-time?
      1. lol reading, of course!
    3. What was the last book you finished?
      1. An arc of Starflight by Melissa Landers
    4. Are you currently binge-watching anything?
      1. No, I usually have to choose between reading or watching tv and right now I’m on a reading kick. Usually over the winter I switch to netflix bingeing for a couple weeks.
    5. How many different countries have you traveled to?
      1. 10! You can see my post about it here! I studied abroad in Ireland for a semester in college and was able totravel extensive all around Europe on my spring break (which is a month long over there!)
    6. Are you a baker or a cooker? Or neither?
      1. Oh my gosh, neither. I cannot do anything in the kitchen. But I can build stuff, I love using tools and making things!
    7. What is the one big thing that you hope to happen in the next year?
      1. Right now we just found out my dad has a tumor so right now my one big wish is for him to be ok and healthy. If he werent sick, my other big hope is that I will get a full time job right after graduating in december.

  1. Ah! I have to disagree with you on the books to movies thing. While I do agree that it brings a lot of attention to the author and the books, a lot of the adaptations have been terrible! I’m afraid that it’s left a bad taste towards YA for a lot of people. I know lots of people whom the movie adaptation has deterred them from reading the actual book, which is so sad! I can’t even name all the adaptations that had good books and bad movies. *sigh*
