Brought to us by The Broke and the Bookish!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten 2016 Debuts Novels We Are Looking Forward To.

(a lot of these are not “debut” novels, in that they are not necessarily the first book written by an author, but they are ones I’m looking forward to so I’m putting them in here anyway!)

A Torch Against the Night
by: Sabaa Tahir
Release date: August 30, 2016

Sequel to An Ember in the Ashes, (see my review) I cannot wait to see what trials await our characters Laia, Elias, and the rest. This is a sort of dystopian/fantasy fiction that takes place in a world reminiscent of Imperial Rome.

Ivory and Bone
by: Julie Eshbaugh
Release date: June 14, 2016

A tale of survival, love, and betrayal, this book’s synopsis is mysterious and vague enough to captivate my interest!

The Crown’s Game
by: Evelyn Skye
Release date: May 17, 2016

A fantasy story set in Russia which seems to be something of a mix between the Hunger Games and Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, this book has caught my fancy!

The Rose & the Dagger
by: Renee Ahdieh
Release date: May 3, 2016

A retelling of Shahrzad’s story, this series has caught the imaginations of many of my fellow readers. I’ve been looking for a reason to read the first book, The Wrath of the Dawn, and this sequel seems to be all the reason I need!

Flamecaster
by: Cinda Williams Chima
Release date: April 19, 2016

Well I haven’t read the first series, Seven Realms, but this new fantasy series, which takes place in the same world but a generation later, is giving me a powerful incentive to go catch up!

The Shadow Queen
by: C.J. Redwine
Release date: Feb 23, 2016

A fantastic-sounding fairy-tale retelling? Um, sign me up please! As if the fantastic cover art on this book isn’t enough to catch your interest, this is a Snow-white-esque story, only grittier. Put me down for a slice of this poison apple pie, if  you please!

Reign of Shadows
by: Sophie Jordan
Release date: February 9, 2016

Here we are, another fairy-tale retelling, this time its a Rapunzel tale. I’m loving these twisted tales, and since I was recently very let down by one (cough, cough, A Whole New World), I sure am looking forward to trying out some of these 2016 titles!

A girl is groomed her whole life to be the next queen, as the Chosen One. Only, when the time comes, it turns out she isn’t chosen! Now she’s on the run and torn between old beliefs, and new duties. I cannot wait for this book!

The Glittering Court
by: Richelle Mead

I’ve never read anything from Richelle Mead but this book sounds way too good to pass up! From the title, to the cover, to the synopsis, everything about this book is shouting “READ ME!”
