I have officially surpassed the halfway mark of my Diversity Audit (for the fiction section of our high school library.) I have been working on Diversity Auditing each genre of my library, and have just completed genres #3 (Action/Adventure) and #5 (Realistic: Relationships, culture, identity).
This is the fourth blog post in this series.
You can read the initial blog post called “Diversity Audit: A Practical Guide” or blog post #2 and blog post #3.

Sadly it becomes clearer and clearer, with each genre that I complete auditing, that our collection has a long way to go to meet our representation goals. The audit is making me excited to start purchasing new books for the collection. It is also reminding me that its probably time for another fiction weed-through. š
