Diversity Audit 4 – Action & Realistic

I have officially surpassed the halfway mark of my Diversity Audit (for the fiction section of our high school library.) I have been working on Diversity Auditing each genre of my library, and have just completed genres #3 (Action/Adventure) and #5 (Realistic: Relationships, culture, identity).

This is the fourth blog post in this series.

You can read the initial blog post calledDiversity Audit: A Practical Guide” or blog post #2 and blog post #3.

Download the Audit

You can view and download my audit here. It includes every single book and which criteria it audited having so this document might help you more quickly complete your own audit, if we have similar titles! This is a living link, so as I complete more genres I will add them to this link. Look at the bottom of the document to find the tabs that take you to each genre.

Sadly it becomes clearer and clearer, with each genre that I complete auditing, that our collection has a long way to go to meet our representation goals. The audit is making me excited to start purchasing new books for the collection. It is also reminding me that its probably time for another fiction weed-through. 🙂
